Question: What are the differences between the available Booster/TLS-Sets?
Answer: We provide three different types of Booster/TLS-sets.

Set Booster/TLS HL contains a ThinkTank Booster K or M, a ThinkTank TLS and a cable set which is necessary to connect the modules to the original HL electronics.

Set Booster/TLS Prop contains a ThinkTank Booster K or M, a ThinkTank TLS and a proportional RC-set cable set which allows the connection to a common RC receiver with at least 4 channels.
The channel layout is as follows:
Channel 1: Booster acceleration
Channel 2: Booster steering
Channel 3: turret rotation
Channel 4: half deflection - main gun elevation (up/down), full deflection - main gun shot and MG shot.
Other functions (engine ignition, light control) are mapped to diagonals of channels 3 and 4.
When the sound module ThinkTank Blaster is installed, two further channels can be optionally connected for user defined samples.
Minimum number of channels: 4
Recommended number of channels: 6

Set Booster/TLS Prop contains a ThinkTank Booster K or M, a ThinkTank TLS and a proportional RC-set cable set which allows the connection to a RC receiver with at least 6 channels. Note channel 5 & 6 should not be a toggle switch, it must be knob or lever adjustable
The channel layout is as follows:
Channel 1: Booster acceleration
Channel 2: Booster steering
Channel 3: turret rotation
Channel 4: main gun elevation
Channel 5: main gun shot and MG shot
Channel 6: engine ignition, light control
When the sound module ThinkTank Blaster is installed, two further channels can be optionally connected for user defined samples.
Minimum number of channels: 6
Recommended number of channels: 8

A Set Booster/TLS HL can be upgraded to a Set Booster/TLS Prop by buying a ThinkTank Prop Wire set and a ThinkTank Booster Update chip.

A Set Booster/TLS Prop can be upgraded to a Set Booster/TLS C6 Prop by use of our Prop - C6 Prop conversion service.

Question: Do I always need a Booster and a TLS?
Answer: No! But You always need at least a ThinkTank Booster module. It improves the drive behaviour of the tank. The functionality of the turret and lights remain the same.
^
Question: Do I have to buy new modules when new features are released?
Answer: Up to now: No and we will do anything to preserve it! You can update your module by buying a new CPU (the part on the PCB with the ElMod sticker on it) and replace it on your own. You can buy the upgrade CPUs for prime costs in our shop.
In the same way You can make a Booster M of a Booster K and vice versa. The electronics remain the same.
^
Question: After a conversion with Booster a TLS I do have a proportional drive control with the original HL-radio. Is this correct?
Answer: Yes and no. In the old HL models, there are only two speed steps ahead and two speed steps back. But with our modules, the transition between the steps are smooth and the speed is suited to the original. For a spectator the tank acts like with a full proportional electronics.
The Sound & Smoke HLs dispose at about 10 speed steps. The transitions are also smoothed and not visible for a spectator. In both cases the tanks don\'t act like funny toys anymore.

Question: I ordered some parts and just in the moment a new firmware is finished. Will I already get the actual one?
Answer: If the new version contains essential changes and the order isn't sent yet, yes.
^
Question: I would like to actualize the firmware of my modules. How can I do this?
Answer: You can order an update in our shop. You will obtain a new cpu that replaces the old one. Consider that there are three different types of update for the ThinkTank Booster, which are interchangeable:
-Update Booster K for tanks with plastic chains AND plastic gearboxes
-Update Booster M for tanks with metal chains AND/OR metal gearboxes
-Update Booster MN for tanks with metal chains AND/OR metal gearboxes with disabled spin turn
Another possibility is to meet us in real live. In this case you can mostly get the updates for free.
^
Question: Is there an update via Internet?
Answer: No!
^
Question: I would like to use your modules in a sound & smoke tank and use the original radio. Do the sound effects and smoke remain?
Answer: Yes!
^
Question: After I installed the modules the tank reacts no more. What now?
Answer: All modules are tested before sending. It is really unusual, that the module is broken (up to now we could register only one case of a damaged module). Here is a small check list:
1. Did the tank work before the installation?
2. Check again ALL connections and wires. They MUST exactly correspond to the illustrations in the manual. Check all insulating screw joints for contact.
3. Is the battery fully charged? Are the batteries in the radio OK?
4. Do the LEDs on the modules light? If they are all off, check the power connections (see second checkpoint)!
5. If the power LED is on but the command LED is dark when moving the stick, then there is a problem with the connection between the HL PCB and the module or the HL receiver gets no signal from radio radio (radio broken?).
6. If all else fails: please contact us with a detailed description of the problem and some (sharp) photos of the wiring.

Question: What are the benefits for the ThinkTank modules in a WSN T34 with the original radio?
Answer: + The driving speed is in scale: No more racing tank!
+ Spin turn and curves are easier to control.
+ The turret rotation is in scale.
+ The gun moves slower.
+ There is a 9sec. reload time. While reloading the tank cannot shot.
^
Question: I would like to install the modules in my T34. Is the functionality the same like in a Heng Long tank?
Answer: Not exactly. The steering with the WSN radio is limited:
- There is only one speed ahead and back.
- The gun can only move in one direction (even after a conversion to proportional radio). If the original shot module isn't installed anymore, set the jumper on TLS to eliminate this disadvantage.
^
Question: How to connect a WSN/Trumpeter T34/85?
Answer: You will need a ThinkTank Booster K/TLS HL Set and a special wire set:
-T-34 Wire Set for the original radio.
-T-34 Prop Wire Set for a proportional radio.
If you are experienced in soldering, you can also build the sets on your own. See our web site or ask us for the wiring plans.
^
Question: Can I use the modules in a T34 Torro Edition?
Answer: Yes. The only difference is that the Torro Edition includes rechargeable batteries. The voltage is accordingly lower and the tank's speed is slower.

Question: What is the connector 4 for?
Answer: The connector is for a second "light group", for example rear light or "Kolonnenfahrtgerät". It can be switched on and off like the front light. See the manual for details about how to use it.
You can directly connect 1 to 4 leds without having to install further parts.

^

Question: What is the pinning of the 8-pin connector leading to the turret?
Answer: (middle of the PCB)
8 MG-LED -
7 Front-LED -
6 Common + for LEDs
5 Common for air gun and barell elevation motor
4 air gun motor
3 barell elevation motor
2 turret motor
1 turret motor
(edge of the PCB)
^

Question: Remains the shot sound of the T34 after the installation of TLS module?
Answer: Yes! But the barell can only be moved in one direction.
^

Question: I would like to install the barell withdraw module from T*miy*. How to do it?
Answer: Take a look on the document considering this topic in the support area.
^

Question: How can I order the muzzle flash! I could not find it in your shop!
Answer: You can use any LED. We do not offer any in our shop. You also can buy a plug-and-play xenon flash here: www.imperial-modellbau.de
^

Question: What is the jumper on the TLS for?
Answer: If the jumper is set, the shot signal lasts only for about 0,5sec. This mode is necessary for a correct function for the recoil unit. With proper wiring of the unit, it retracts fast and pulls of slowly.

Question: How are the functions of the TLS controlled?
Answer: It depends on the version.

TLS HL:
-left stick up: rise gun
-left stick down: lower gun
-left stick left/right: turret rotation
-left stick diagonally up/right: gun shot
-left stick diagonally up/left: engine on/off (only with installed ThinkTank Blaster)
-left stick diagonally down/right: second light channel on/off
-left stick diagonally down/left: main light on/off
-Key G: MG shot

TLS Prop (2-channel version)
-left stick half up: rise gun
-left stick half down: lower gun
-left stick left/right: turret rotation
-left stick full up: gun shot
-left stick full down: MG shot
-left stick diagonally up/left: engine on/off (only with installed ThinkTank Blaster)
-left stick diagonally down/right: second light channel on/off
-left stick diagonally down/left: main light on/off

TLS Prop C4 (4-channel version)
-left stick up: rise gun
-left stick down: lower gun
-left stick left/right: turret rotation
-channel 5 up: gun shot
-channel 5 down: MG shot
-channel 6 up: engine on/off (only with installed ThinkTank Blaster)
-channel 6 full down: second light channel on/off
-channel 6 half down: main light on/off

Question: Are the functions of the TLS proportional in connection with a proportional radio?
Answer: The turret rotation speed is full proportional, gun moving remains digital (up/down). The optional servos move with one, very slow speed.
^

Question: The turret rotates veeery slooowly! Why?
Answer: The turret rotation speed is in scale. A full 360 degree turn takes:
-Tiger, Panther: 40s
-Pershing: 16s
-T-34: 20s
^

Question: I would like to turn the turret and move the gun in same time. Is it possible?
Answer: Yes. But only with a proportional conversion!

^Question: Is it possible to control the gun position with servos?
Answer: Yes. Simply plug the servos (one for horizontal and one for vertical position) on the TLS. No further configuration is necessary. The servos stay in their last position when the stick on the radio is in neutral position.
^

Question: Do the servos also work with the original HL PCB?
Answer: Yes.
